No news is news

Silence when recruiting is a brand killer...
Everybody who has ever applied for a role understands that only one person will be successful. Worse than hearing a "no" is not hearing anything at all, …just silence.
When there is a vacuum of communication, people make up their own narrative, especially if they have made it to interview stage.
They assume the role has gone cold or they are second choice. Trust slips and good people move on.
A two minute call that says “no news yet” is news to a candidate. It tells them they matter and keeps them engaged.
Even if they ultimately miss out, they remember how they were treated and your brand is better for it.
