Designed by psychologists and based in science

Specifically designed by psychologists for use within organisations, Facet5 helps people at all levels understand behaviour and what can be achieved.

Facet5 is the result of over 30 years of development using sound psychometric methods to create a model of personality that supports people's development, in all its forms.

The five factor model of personality (or ‘Big 5’) is now widely accepted as the best way of describing the fundamental building blocks of personality. The ‘Big 5’ model consistently emerges from psychological research as the irreducible minimum needed to give a comprehensive description of personality and behaviour. Facet5 measures these five factors precisely and quickly to give an accurate and easily applied portrait of an individual’s personality.

An individual’s profile will show a score of 1-10 on each Facet factor, and this builds up a picture of their overall personality.

As well as an overall profile and a breakdown into their scores on each factor and sub-factor, the Facet5 report provides people other useful insights into an individual’s personality and what this means for the workplace.

These include:

Family Portrait

With Facet5, there are 1,000,000 possible combinations of scores that would give noticeably different profiles. Facet5 have divided up this vast number of possible patterns into 17 different ‘families’ of similar profiles. For example, a person may be a ‘Supporter’, ‘Specialist’ or ‘Controller.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN A FACET5 PERSONALITY PROFILE?

Each report is comprised of:

WORD CLOUD: displayed on the front page, it is a quick summary of the main themes in the person's profile. The more prominent themes appear in larger text.

OVERALL PROFILE: a visual picture of an individual's Facet5 factor profile. This picture can be overlayed with other profiles to show similarities and differences quickly and easily.

FACTOR PROFILE PAGES: details the 5 factors and 13 sub-factor scores. Each factor is detailed in rich commentary that ensure meaningful insights can be created during the initial debrief and beyond.

The core Facet5 Profile can be supplemented with the following add-on reports

Family Portrait

Provides a visual snapshot of an individual’s Facet5 profile, summarised into one of 17 family types. It uses jargon-free language to support an individual’s understanding of their preferences, behaviours and motivations.

SearchLight

Maps Facet5 data onto a standardised competency model. For each competency Searchlight identifies and describes those expected behaviour and areas of potential risk in an easy, work related language.

Work Preferences

All supplementary reports can be purchased individually or as one, complete Facet5 profile.
